This weekend was a blast! My best friend Elizabeth came down for a visit in celebration of finding out about the sex of the baby. Friday night Chris, Lizzy and I went to Denny's and announced Lizzy as our daughter's godmother. Yes, I know we are not Catholic....which was Lizzy's response......but the title will be used in answer to our will. Later in the evening we watched movies but we were drained afterwards and went to bed.
Saturday morning we got up refreshed but lazy and we ended up having a late brunch with our high-rise german hotcakes. Yum! On Saturday afternoon Lizzy and I scavanged for scrapbooking ideas at the University Mall and went shopping while Chris went and exchanged some fish for more fish. My silly husband! By early evening we were exhausted from the day plus it was raining cats and dogs! So we set back off for our house and came back for a leisurely late dinner. Afterwards we decided we were bored and went to a game store in the Provo Towne Center mall and decided to try out the famous Settlers of Catan. Chris was so excited when we brought it home that he set it all up for us, read the instructions and went over what he learned to us. Lizzy was intently listening but I was having a horrible coughing spell and couldn't concentrate. Late into the night, we were still playing and the 3 of us were crazily laughing because of the late hour. Somehow someway I ended up winning by pure dumb luck.....Chris was not happy with me!
Eventually we got some sleep in around 1pm and none of were able to move until 10:30am Sunday morning! Lizzy was feeling a little under the weather too so we decided not to go to church. Of course at this point, Chris and Lizzy had to have their rematch with me......but of course since I was more aware I lost by a long shot to Chris! It was probably just beginners luck anyway...... In between games we ate my favorite clam chowder for lunch and Lizzy won the 3rd round. Once we were tied, we scurried to clean up the game and the rest of the household messes we had made because Chris' parents were coming by to see the new closets Chris and I built in our room . That was an hilarity of fun having them over! We are the biggest smart alects I know!
We ended the evening and the weekend with our "man's meal" which consisted of steak and a baked potatoe with a glass of sparkling cider and a toast to babies and godmothers! What a weekend! Thanks for coming down Lizzy we look forward to your upcoming visits!
